Ground Zero

In early-2000s Kashmir, BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey is drawn into the hunt for a shadowy terror network operating in the region. Working through patient intelligence-gathering and against considerable bureaucratic resistance, he pieces together the trail leading to a high-value target. Convinced that hesitation will cost lives, Dubey ultimately stakes everything on a risky operation to bring the mission to a close, in a story drawn from a real chapter of India’s security operations.

Ground Zero was directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar from a screenplay by Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Srivastava, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar among others under the Excel Entertainment banner with its partners. The film was photographed by Kamaljeet Negi and edited by Chandrashekhar Prajapati, with a runtime of about 134 minutes, and was researched around the real Operation Ghazi Baba.

The soundtrack was contributed by several composers, including Tanishk Bagchi and the duo Rohan-Rohan, supporting the film’s tense, grounded tone.

Ground Zero released on 25 April 2025 and earned a modest sum at the box office. Reviews were mixed: critics praised Emraan Hashmi’s understated performance and the film’s thriller elements, while some felt a tighter edit and a broader perspective would have strengthened it.
