Special Ops 2

Special Ops 2 picks up with veteran R&AW officer Himmat Singh once again at the head of a covert field team. The abduction of a scientist and the killing of a senior officer expose a hidden cyber offensive designed to cripple India’s digital backbone. As Himmat pieces the threat together, he realises the enemy has help from inside — forcing him to root out a mole even as the clock runs down. Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher and Vinay Pathak return as his operatives, with Tahir Raj Bhasin as the shadowy adversary orchestrating the attack.

Special Ops 2 was directed by Neeraj Pandey, co-directed by Shivam Nair, and written by Pandey with Deepak Kingrani and Benazir Ali Fida. It was produced by Shital Bhatia under the Friday Storytellers banner and streams on JioHotstar. The season runs to seven episodes and continues the grounded, procedural spy-thriller style that defined the original series.

The music and background score for the season were composed by Advait Nemlekar, sustaining the taut, tension-driven tone the franchise is known for.

Special Ops 2 premiered on JioHotstar on 18 July 2025. As a continuation of one of Hindi streaming’s best-regarded espionage franchises, it drew attention for Kay Kay Menon’s return as Himmat Singh and for its timely cyber-warfare premise, with reviewers weighing the new season against the high bar set by the original.
